The ABC (Alexandra Bastedo Champions) Sanctuary
The ABC (Alexandra Bastedo Champions) Sanctuary was started 25 years ago, but moved to the well drained hills of the South Downs a few years ago. Alexandra Bastedo is Patron of Compassion in World Farming, Wild Life Aid and Nature watch and also Patron of the Paws Animal Rescue Centre in Findon near Worthing, Sussex.
The sanctuary is filled horses, ponies, donkeys, sheep, goats, geese, ducks, chickens, turkeys. Most of the resident cats are now about 17 years of age and have recently had extensive dental work, which works out to be expensive, so many are now running around the house like kittens again!
