Earthquake/Tsunami
Appeals - Asia
In light of the recent horrendous natural
disasters across parts of Asia, Wetnose Campaign has
established long lasting networks with key animal
welfare groups working in devastated areas.
Many rescue centres lost important accomodations
& equipment not just for the animals but for their
staff and volunteers.
They need funds urgently to re-build projects and
fix the animal cages, also buy medicines and equipment.
We have so far assisted the following organisations
that are helping rebuild animals and their companions
lives:
Animals
Asia - Animals Asia is a Hong Kong-based charity,
dedicated to ending cruelty and restoring respect
for all animals in Asia. Project Asia
- Addressing Asian issues: live wild animal
markets, emergency relief and usage of animals in

'Home and Abroad
Animal Welfare' is a small organisation based
in Fleet, Hampshire. Janice Down who started the organisation
has been working with animals abroad for the past
20 years trying to alleviate some of the suffering
that is inflicted upon animals. They visit Sri Lanka
3 times a year educating the Sri-Lankan people. "We
show them how to care for their animals and offer
poorer people free veterinary care treatment. We distribute
posters offering free spraying and neutering. We take
many books for children and adults on how to care
for dogs in the hope that they will grow to respect
animals. We have started to notice small but significant
changes in Sri-Lanka and we hope that the changes
continue." More will be posted soon regarding
Janis's plan of action in light of the tragedy.
