Animal Adoption/Sponsorship

Many small rescue centres run 'adoption' schemes. They make wonderful gifts and presents, especially to youngsters. Often they include progress reports, pictures and stories from your adopted animal.

On this page you can view just some of the animals who are looking for a loving adoption And read stories of those who have recently been adopted.

If you would like to advertise an animal on this page please email us with the details. (Please note there is a £1 charge (every penny going direct to Wetnose-Campaign) for registered charities, small rescue centres NO FEE)

Surda & Steluta at "Pro Animals", Gorj, Romania.
$10 a Month - Email Patricia

SurdaMy name is Surda (Deaf), I'm a female and I have 3 years and a half. I was wandering on the streets when the municipality's cathers caught me, beat me with an iron tongs and with clubs in my head and over my mouth. I was full of blood and I lost my consciousness. Being saved by Pro Animals I woke up in the shelter, I didn't hear nothing around me anymore and the blood was still running out my ears. I realised that I'm deaf . But, despite this tragedies I like to play all the time now and what I like best is to take a bath.

StelutaMy name is Steluta, I'm a female and I have 5 years.Three years ago , when I was a stray, I was caught, by my neck, by the municipality's cathers with a wire. Being pregnant I struggled to save myself and my puppies from being killed but the wire remained at my neck. Since that moment I didn't trust people anymore. That wire penetrated into my skin and I made a dangerous infection. "Pro animals'' found me and fed me for several months on the streets being impossible for them to get near me. Meanwhile I gave birth to three lovely puppies who were taken away from my by people I didn't know. After many months I was given an anesthesic in my food and I fall asleep. When I woke up I was into a shelter where I discovered a new world for me. I didn't have the wire at my neck and the injury had been cured. I'm still a little sad and don't trust in all people. Give me the chance to trust again.

Marmaduke - the adopted CatMarmaduke came into our lives as another tatty, starved stray. At first, when we take in any stray, we always isolate them in case they are carrying any disease. Fortunately, Marmaduke was healthy, though very thin and hungry. Some cats becoMarmaduke - the adopted Catme nervous and terrified of humans after their ordeal, while others, like Marmaduke, are hardly affected.

Marmaduke very quickly settled and made up for lost time by eating four hearty meals a day. The weight very quickly went back on and Marmaduke spent a lot of his time grooming himself (given the chance Marmaduke will groom anyone who stands still for more than a minute). In no time at all he was back to being a big handsome cat. [Read more]
