Please donate however small to our Overseas
Fund which is used to send supplies to help care for some of the
poorest animals Wetnose has ever seen. Thank You for your kindness.
Your donation goes a long way to helping keep these smaller Rescue Centres
going. Wetnose pay's off vets bills or buys equipment which is vital.
Many Centres will have to close if more funding is not given. We all know
who the big organisation are, please don't forget about the smaller ones
who work just as hard. Thank You for your help.

This
is so wonderful, thank you all."

This is why Wet Nose has been set up. We know how hard these
smaller centres really struggle, and there are many all over
the country that have less than £5,000 in their accounts.
Please give a donation to the Wet Nose Campaign so we can
help the Centres mentioned in this newsletter and many, many
more.
The skills, effort and commitment required to care for such
a wide range of animals, each with its own specialised needs,
are considerable. How do I know this? I used to help my husband
run a Dog Rescue Centre for 12 years and took in 500 dogs
a year. Many Centres need better facilities, new kennel doors
or stables, new heating systems for a cattery or new kitchen
equipment; some are in a very bad way.
Fact:Thousands
of dogs and cats are destroyed each year just because they
are strays; but it doesn't end there. It's all the hundreds
of animals injured on our roads and from building new houses;
new roads and offices, rivers being polluted by chemicals
from factories. The list is endless; and it's getting worse
each year. Hundreds of deers, foxes, owls, hedgehogs are hit
by cars; and many more could and should be saved.
Fact: There
are over 6million cats, 5m dogs, 1m birds, 1m rabbits and
many more horses, donkeys, deer, wildlife, reptiles and other
animals living in the U.K. today. Lots of domestic animals
are in rescue centres because they are pregnant or sick or
need operations; who pays for it, the Rescue Centres does.
The only solution to these problems is more education on
animal welfare and to stop so many pets ending up in rescue
centres. Above all, more money needs to be given to the animals
in care, for better surroundings and treatment; so many wild
animals can and should be released back in the wild where
they belong. Domestic animals can be re-homed to better and
more suitable owners. But.... like looking after sick children,
all this costs MONEY lots of it!
The emphasis in this Country is on humanitarian issues, but
we so often forget that caring for all our abused and sick
animals is what helps make us human? Just like children being
made homeless or those that have been badly abused, these
problems will never go away but they can be reduced if we
all help together.
Any Rescue Centre can apply for money, just send us copies
of your latest accounts and details of your Centres aims for
the future.
Wetnose will visit some of these Centres (depending on the
area), and when the application has been successful, money
is then sent out as soon as possible.
So all you Rescue Centres out there, dont delay, get
writing and lets hear from you soon. We are also asking
for support to help keep our Wet Nose shop open in Beccles
Suffolk.
