Wetnose supports hundreds of cats, dogs, horses, ponies, rabbits and many more every year ... with your help !

Please donate however small to our Overseas Fund which is used to send supplies to help care for some of the poorest animals Wetnose has ever seen. Thank You for your kindness.

Your donation goes a long way to helping keep these smaller Rescue Centres going. Wetnose pay's off vets bills or buys equipment which is vital. Many Centres will have to close if more funding is not given. We all know who the big organisation are, please don't forget about the smaller ones who work just as hard. Thank You for your help.

Le Chat Mon Ami
LeChatMonAmiAngelique Bellin has 200 cats and gets frowned upon from the locals for looking after these cats, they think she is mad. Every week kittens are left on the door step or pregnant cats need treatment. But luckily Angelique has now got 12 English and French volunteers, one being Sue Lowe (Treasurer) her address is: La Maison Bergeronnette, La Croix Morain, 50260 Le Vretot, France. Tel: 0033 233 01 2969. Also Monika Brewster on 01929 – 425401 in SwanageWetnose was struck by the beauty of Angeliques cats - there sure are some good looking cats in France !

DDartmoor Pony Rescue - Basilartmoor Pony Rescue in Devon.
"We are a voluntary organisation set up in 2005 to either take on ponies left unsold at the annual pony markets or to take on some of the ponies that would otherwie end up on the meat trade.  These ponies are often Bay colt (male), which are unpopular because of their plain colouring and can be harder to train as they are generally more lively.  They also have to be gelded which can cost over £100.  Unfortunately, if these ponies aren't sold at the sales, their future does not look very bright.

Once we have taken on the ponies, we will have to spend a lot of time with them getting them used to people.  Most of the ponies we take on will have been born this year, and will have spent their lives out on the moor with their herd.  The drifts and sales can therefore be fairly traumatic for them as they will probably have been separated from their mothers and their herd.

It can take a lot of time to get the ponies to trust us and eventually be halter broken.  We are hoping to take on a number of volunteers to help with the training of the foals and we hope to be able to re-home them by the following summer. The ponies will be loaned out to their new families and we will not sell them.  This means that we can keep a close eye on them throughout their lives, and monitor there process. Please send emails to"

Alternative Animal Sanctuary Here's Mervin one of the foals (we believe a Dartmoor)who we rescued at an auction, seven were not sold and were going to be slaughtered at only a few months old so we brought them for 50p each and one for free!
That's how worthless their lives were!! All have been gelded except Mervin who needs to go to the Vets College because one of his testicles is undescended.
Apart from the worry it is going to cost a lot of money.
We also have goats about to arrive tomorrow who need a new enclosure built to house them, my goat 'Powerpack' who needs castrating before he can join them and Helga the new dog who needs spaying. I have an account number at my vets 66210 for any donation to go to and they will send you a receipt so you know the money has gone on animal treatment. Once again thanks, any help I can get is much appreciated. Regards Tamara

Hedgehog Advisory Centre & Rescue
Hedgehogs only have one enemy, which is the Badger, and of course the car. Hoglets (babies) have another enemy - the cold winter. Female hoglets are never going to make enough body fat to sustain a long sleep; they will either starve or freeze to death. If you feed hedgehogs in the garden, look out for these babies coming for food.

From October onwards any hoglets weighing less than one and a quarter pounds should be rescued. Hedgehogs need to be warmer than 65 degrees. The best rescue remedy is warm water, a little sugar and a little salt, or Lectade from your vets. Ask your local school to have a hedgehog box you can buy them from Carol at only £12.00 each.
For more information ring Carol on Diss on 01379-644988 or www.hedgehog-lady.fsnet.co.uk or you can ring the British Hedgehog Society on 01584-890801.

ACE Charity in Eqypt
Julie Wartenburg runs the ACE charity in Egypt helping horses & donkeys in Egypt. "ACE's founding purpose is to improve the lives of these high profile animals used mainly by tourists; so its first centre has been set up in Luxor, in an area called El Gouahera, where many carriage drivers live. Luxor is a hot, dry, sandy, dusty city so the horses are given what they need, washing and grooming in clean fresh water. This allows us to give them a preventive medical examination involving checking for lesions (soon fly-blown in the city's atmosphere), checking their teeth and bit, inspecting the harness and spraying with citronella to keep the flies at bay. Treatment to wounds such as being hit by cars is given by 2 resident vets, Dr. David Mechelle Saweris E.V.M.S and Dr. Assma Abd EL Mowgood E.V.M.S."

ACE Horses getting a good shower in Egypt Wetnose has sent pony head collars, bandages, wound powder with funds to follow. If you can help with pony head collars please get in touch. This is a really fantastic way of helping the horses get a full MOT and also educating the locals. Julie you deserve a medal. Wetnose will continue to help ACE for the rest of 2007. Maybe you can do a fund raising event for them. Any horses lovers out there?

The Rabbit Charity in Northern Ireland
Bunny RabbitThis Charity is run by Myna Brown and is desperate for more volunteers and money. So many rabbits are kept in huts that are too small for them and the rabbits are not fed or exercised properly. Most people buy young rabbits and do not realize that they can live for 10 years, they are intelligent with strong social bonds with each other.

Over 25,000 unwanted pet rabbits pass through the U.K. rescue centres annually. A lot more education needs to be done with rabbits and people selling them in pet shops.
For more info call Myrna on 028-9337-3838 or write to P.O. Box 999, Carrickfergus, BT38-9GW.

Sugar Loaf Sanctuary in Kent is run by Janet Buckley. This is one of my favourite Centres. Janet often takes in animals the bigger Centres refuse. Nearly all stay as part of the family or get re-homed. Dolly (brown and white patches) was from the Ashford Horse Sales along with Chloe- Dolly at Sugar Loaf Sanctuarygrey donkey and Joey a brown donkey and Indie a white and brown minature pony. 6 weeks earlier these ponies and donkey's were in Snowdonia. Todate Janet has 6 horses, 7 donkeys, 3 Peruvian Pot Bellied Pigs, 8 goats, 7 dogs, 34 cats. Most of the animals all roam free. If you can help with food or fund raising for Janet call 01233-732588.
